Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced the visa fee rebate scheme on Wednesday, 19 January 2022.
How can I be eligible for the scheme?
You will need to arrive in Australia between Wednesday 19 January and Wednesday 19 March 2022.
What will be rebated with this scheme?
Your student visa application fees ($630) will be refunded.

What are these relaxations mean?
International students can now commence work prior to the course commencement and work more than 40 hours per fortnight in any sector of the economy. This also includes secondary applicants.
Can I stop my enrolment and work?
NO. You still need to meet your visa conditions, those are to maintain active enrolment, ensure satisfactory attendance and ensure satisfactory progress. If you can’t maintain any of these, you may be in breach of your visa conditions.
